It was quiet. It was convenient to our destination.
The room was very small. A double bed took up the entire room. The bathroom was smaller than my closet at home. My daughter and I are both slightly built and yet we felt cramped. We booked a room with 2 double beds but that was not available when we arrived so we were given a room with one double bed. We were offered a second room for an additional $109/night. I don't think so! We booked for 2 nights but left after one. Bad experience.
This was a dive. Carpet in room was completely stained and dirty. No plug ins in the bathroom. No closet or anywhere to hang your clothes. Very run down. No pool. No ambiance of any kind.
nice staff..convenient location
hours for staff at hotel could be longer
the staff were very nice people and very helpful
the drain in shower was slow to drain, everything else was great
Clean and comfortable and a great price.
Nothing fancy but again very clean and comfortable.
Free Wifi, and computer for use in lobby.
Noisy room, by busy roadside, not double-glazed. Given a room with a connecting door, when I specifically asked for a non-connecting room. "Historic" misleading - nothing special, or historic, about this hotel.
Low price. The room was very clean at check-in, but see below. Quiet location.
The room was not cleaned during our 3 day stay, and the staff said that rooms aren't cleaned unless guests stay longer than a week. There was no closet or other facility for hanging clothes. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom.
I was dissapointed in the whole keys trip. I was expecting it to be more upscale. The motel had a stong punget smell ,that burned my eyes.smelled like cat urine. It was very noisy from trafic.poor windows.
the location cannot be beat and our room at the back was very quiet.
for the money, the inn cannot be beat.
The rooms were comfortable and it was nice that we had 2 adjacent rooms for 3 people.
There should be double glazing, since the road is quite noisy, even at night. It was not at sea shore and we only found out how important that is in the Keys after we got there.
The only good thing I can say about our second room was the beds were comfortable.
Parking in the back. Walked through a messy entrance way into the hotel. No one in the office. Had to call number on the front door. Key was in a lock box. We were given a room that looked like a natural disaster. It wasn't livable! Collapsed roof with water damage in room entry way. The shower also had a collapsed ceiling and toilet not useable. Beds were made but leaves and debris still on the floor. When we called back to request a different room, woman didn't seem too bothered by what we told her. She then gave us a different key lock box. The room was small but looked nice at first glance. But the shower head was broken. Most of the water was shooting up to the ceiling. Had to take a sponge bath. Was too tired to request a third room. Will never stay there again.
Sort of historic. Clean, small rooms.
Being told if the key was lost there was a $125 fee. There was no name on the key tag, just the room number. I doubt if some one is going to start in Key West and work their way north to see which room 103 it is going to open I don't know if your not their by 5 P.M. what happens because the office closes. Guess you out of luck.
Location. Internet. Cable TV
No elec. outlet near a mirror (none in bathroom at all). Elec outlet behind bed had a short so was afraid to use it.. For the $$...fresh towels should've been provided.
Despite bad reviews, this hotel was a decent stay considering we weren't planning on spending our entire visit within. The staff and mascot were friendly and our room had the basic needs required for a one night stay being a clean, comfy king size w/ample plush pillows and a common bath. A fridge/microwave would've been a plus but all the more reason to enjoy dining out by the sea! We were conveniently located between Key Largo and Islamorada's world famous Tiki Bar so we decided on staying a second night at The Tavernier for the value it's worth.
A Good bakery near the hotel
No personal before 7pm, we had to call a number to have our Key! Dirty moquette and when we woke up We found 2 warms in the bed...
